The name Poul Henningsen is synonymous with the best and most innovative of modern Scandinavian design. The iconic Pianette was designed by Poul Henningsen in 1935 and is the finest in Danish design commanding respect and admiration. The design will always be futuristic and the piano will add style, beauty and adoration to any setting. The design of the pianette is much like Poul Henningsen's light, lamp and other furniture designs that were unique resulting in them being renowned as major contributors to the Bauhaus design movement.
Danish Piano Maker Andreas Christensen started production in 1912 in Copenhagen. He worked closely with contemporary Danish designers and architects to work on the ascetics of the modern piano, most notably Torben Christensen, and A. Skjøt-Pedersen. However, Andreas Christensen's closest collaboration was with the architect and social critic Poul Henningsen. This relationship saw the development of the PH piano range that lead to the production of a variety of pianos including the pianette.
Finely crafted, the pianette produces tonal qualities that are usually intrinsic with much larger instruments. The playing action is also highly sensitive and accurate presenting the pianist with the tools to create or interpret the finest of musical pieces.
